Common C/NT Problems

Before asking for help check the following links to see if the problem has been encountered before:-

Installing Problems:

Compiling Problems:

PFE produces the error "Substitution cannot be performed in the specified command line as either no file is currently open, or the current window does not contain a named file"
Compiler produces the following in the output window:-
- The name specified is not recognized as an
  internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
- <filename>: file not recognized: File format not recognized
- gcc.exe: <filename>: No such file or directory (ENOENT)
  gcc.exe: No input files
- Undefined symbol sqrt first referenced in file ...
- <filename>: In function `main':
  <filename>:76: ......

Running Problems:

PFE produces the error "Substitution cannot be performed in the specified command line as either no file is currently open, or the current window does not contain a named file"
PFE produces "Unable to create process: [2] The system cannot find the file specified."
PFE produces the error "Unable to create process: [193] %1 is not a valid Windows NT application.
You get the error "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in My Computer by clicking View and then clicking Options." When you try and run your program from the DOS prompt
DOS window closes suddenly
You type some input but nothing happens

Problems with PFE:

When you come to use the compile or run buttons you find that the "Command:" and/or the "Working Directory:" entries are blank.
When you try and save or re-name files you get a "Permission Denied" message
